This questionnaire helps you identify the three main ways people cope with their early maladaptive schemas: Surrender, Avoidance, and Overcompensation.
3 Coping Styles
Surrender (Yielding): Accepting the schema as true and acting in ways that confirm it (e.g., people-pleasing).
Avoidance (Flight): Attempting to avoid triggering the schema or feeling the associated emotions (e.g., social withdrawal, distractions).
Overcompensation (Counter-attacking): Acting in the opposite way to how the schema makes one feel, often in an extreme or defensive manner (e.g., aggression, perfectionism).
